We’re lucky to have a large selection of spirits to choose from, but why enjoy them alone when there are so many fantastic mixers? In this post, we’re going to reveal the best spirit recipes. 

 

Vodka

Vodka is one of the most recognised spirits in the world. People of all ages drink it in a variety of ways. While some people drink it alone, it’s common to combine vodka with coke, orange juice or lemonade. 

 

There’s no doubt that vodka is a diverse drink, so here are some recipes that you have to try. 

 

Harvey Wallbanger 

 

If you’re the kind of person who likes to party, this cocktail is ideal. Packed with citrus flavours and a healthy dose of vodka, the Harvey Wallbanger is perfect for adding some sunshine to your life. 

 

You’ll Need: 

 

  • One large orange (juiced) 
  • 50ml vodka 
  • Ice 
  • Half a lemon (juiced)
  • 15ml Galliano 

 

  1. Grab a cocktail maker and fill it with ice. Pour in the vodka, orange and lemon juice then shake until the cocktail maker feels cold on the outside. 
  2. Pour the mixture into two large glasses, with ice. 
  3. Serve with an umbrella and fruit (optional). 

 

Sex on the Beach 

 

Another fan favourite, Sex on the Beach cocktails are one of the worlds most popular drinks. It’s in the ranks of Pina Coladas and Cosmopolitans, so you know it’s good. Serve up this cocktail before an evening out or at home with the girls. 

 

What You’ll Need: 

 

  • Ice
  • 25ml peach schnapps 
  • 50ml vodka
  • 50ml cranberry juice 
  • Two juiced oranges 

 

  1. Grab two glasses and fill them with ice cubes. 
  2. Pour all other ingredients into a c jug and stir.
  3. Pour into two glasses, serve and enjoy. 

 

Martini 

 

If you prefer a sophisticated drink, then there’s nothing quite like a Martini. Made famous by James Bond, this delicious vodka version of the cocktail is stirred and not shaken. It would be best if you served this at a romantic dinner, or even enjoy alone. 

 

You’ll Need: 

 

  • 1 tbsp dry vermouth 
  • 60ml vodka 
  • Olive for garnish 

 

One thing we love about the vodka martini is how simple it is to make. All you need to do is pour the ingredients into a glass, stir, then garnish with an olive. Sophisticated, simplistic, this cocktail proves that less is more.

Rum is experiencing a surge in sales, especially in the UK. In fact, according to The International Drink Expo, Rum is now a strong contender of vodka and gin for the country’s most popular spirit.

 

We all know the Pina Colada and classic rum and coke drinks, but there are so many exotic rum recipes. Let’s take a look at them. 

 

Dark & Stormy 

 

A mystical mix of dark rum and ginger, the Dark & Stormy cocktail is the opposite of a Pina Colada. If you’d like to try something different, this is the ideal drink because it packs many unique flavours and is incredibly easy to make. 

 

What You’ll Need: 

 

  • 25ml fresh lime juice 
  • 50ml dark rum
  • 100ml cold ginger beer 
  • Two dashes of Angostura bitters 

 

All you need to do with this easy cocktail recipe is put the ingredients into a glass and stir. You can also add a twist of orange to make the drink more exotic. 

 

Spice 75 

 

If you like to spread some festive cheer all year round, then do it with the Spice 75 cocktail. The Christmas taste will feel you and your guests with warmth, but we’d recommend you save this cocktail for the colder seasons. 

 

What You’ll Need: 

 

  • 1tbsp all spice mix 
  • 60g golden caster sugar 
  • 200ml rum 
  • 90ml lime juice
  • Orange twist
  • 600ml champagne 

 

  1. Place your caster sugar in a pan with some water and the all spice mix. 
  2. Cook until the sugar dissolves, then remove off the heat and leave to cool. 
  3. Once cold, you can strain it into a jug to get rid of excess bits. 
  4. Pour 60ml of the syrup mix into a cocktail shaker, and add the rum, lime juice and orange twist. 
  5. Pour into large champagne flutes, then top each with the champagne.

Gin has made a real turnaround in recent years, and it’s fast becoming the UK’s drink of choice. To celebrate what makes gin so unique, we’ve picked our favourite recipes. 

 

Apple Pie Gin Cocktail

 

Apple pie is one of those desserts that will never go out of fashion. You’ll need to use our speciality gin for this recipe, but trust us – it’s worth it. Here’s how to get everything you need for the apple pie gin cocktail recipe

 

What You’ll Need: 

 

  • Cinnamon syrup 
  • 60ml apple pie gin
  • 90ml apple cider 
  • Ground cinnamon
  • Lemon wedge 

 

  1. If you’re planning on glazing your glasses, mix a small amount of sugar and cinnamon in a bowl, then use a lemon wedge to brush around your glass. 
  2. Place the gin, cider and syrup in a cocktail maker and mix. 
  3. Pour over ice and serve with a lemon or cinnamon stick garnish. 

 

Singapore Sling 

 

This classic cocktail is full of sweet flavours, so it’s perfect for a warm day in the sun. Fruity, refreshing and delicious, this is a gin cocktail to put on your list for summer. 

 

What You’ll Need: 

 

  • 25ml cherry brandy 
  • 25ml gin 
  • 25ml benedictine
  • Ice 
  • Four drops angostura bitters 
  • 25ml lime juice 
  • 50ml pineapple juice 
  • Sparkling water 

 

  1. While there are a lot of ingredients in this recipe, it’s straightforward. Pour the gin, cherry and benedictine into a jug and mix. 
  2. Add in some Angostura bitters and ice, stirring until the glass gets cold. 
  3. Pour into a large glass and add your lime and pineapple juice. 
  4. Top with sparkling water and serve. 

 

Limoncello Gin Cocktail

 

If you’re a fan of refreshing drinks that have a strong taste, then you can’t go wrong with this cocktail. The tanginess of the lemon mixed with the gin is to die for. 

 

What You’ll Need:

 

  • 30ml gin 
  • 30ml limoncello
  • Club soda 
  • Ice 

 

All you need to do with this recipe is pour the gin and limoncello into a glass with ice and top with club soda.
